The journey so far

How I got here, and what I picked up along the way

  1. First lines, first bugs

    Began with C and Python, and learned the web from the outside in — markup and styling before frameworks.

    • Started with small programs, plenty of bugs, and the satisfaction of finally making things work.
    • Learned that debugging is less about fixing code and more about figuring out how to think.

  2. Learning how things work under the hood

    Went deeper into C++ and Java, built a stronger foundation in DSA and OOP, and started using JavaScript, SQL, and MySQL to build things beyond the console.

    • Started solving problems with DSA and learned to think beyond just making the code work.
    • Moved from learning individual concepts to building applications with JavaScript, databases, and real user flows.

  3. From concepts to complete products

    Moved from learning individual concepts to building complete applications with React, Node.js, Express, and MongoDB — connecting the frontend, APIs, database, and deployment into one product.

    • Built full-stack applications like JobTrackr and GroceryHub, taking features from the UI through REST APIs to database operations.
    • Learned to work beyond local development with Git, GitHub, Postman, authentication, reusable components, and end-to-end deployment.

  4. From projects to production

    Joined Infinite Locus as an SDE-1 intern and moved from building projects to working on production systems — Shopify storefronts, ERPNext workflows, APIs, and the infrastructure around them.

    • Worked on production features across Shopify, ERPNext, and internal systems, shipping changes that had to be reliable beyond the development environment.
    • Learned how production engineering differs from side projects — debugging real issues, optimizing performance, working with existing systems, and collaborating through Git and Jira.

  5. Full time — git commit -m "not an intern anymore"

    Moved from intern to full time, with more ownership over the work I ship. Focused now on turning ideas into polished experiences — making things feel right, work reliably, and stay fast even as the product grows.

    • Took ownership of production features from implementation through testing, optimization, and release.
    • Worked across product experiences, performance, experimentation, and production systems while collaborating with the team.
    • Currently getting better at balancing performance, maintainability, accessibility, and the small details users actually notice.
